How To Fix H1Z1: King of the Kill Errors, Crashes, “G” Errors, Performance Issues, Launch Problems
H1Z1: King of the Kill is a large-scale, fight-to-the-death shooter that is currently in Early Access version. That means that the game is not complete yet and that it develops side-by-side with players. Developers said that they’ve used Early Access as an opportunity to grow their relationship with the gaming community. They will continue to use player feedback to plot the course for King of the Kill and to make it as good as we all know it can be.
Because the game is in this version, it gets improved day by day, but at this moment there are also a lot of issues that from time to time are making the game unplayable. For example, the most common H1Z1: King of the Kill errors that players are complaining about right now are crash to desktop when cutting down trees, melee attacks bugged, different performance issues like low fps or stuttering and other bugs that are starting to annoy players.

- Performance Issues/ Low FPS, Stuttering
- G29, G32 – error codes

#1 H1Z1: King of the Kill Crashes (Startup&Random throughout the game)
Crashes in H1Z1 are a common issue since the launch of the game. Players are complaining that they encounter crashes when they join a game, when they try to launch the game or random while playing. This issue is a critical one because it’s making the game unplayable. When you encounter a crash the only thing you can do is to restart your game or if you are unable to do that, you need to restart your PC which is so annoying for some.
To fix this issue try to apply or workaround below. If nothing works for you or if you don’t know how to apply these workarounds go ahead and apply our solution and after that you should no longer encounter crashes.
Workarounds:
- Run the launchpad and game as administrator, to do that go to the game folder and right click the game exe and here you will find Run as Administrator.
- This error occurs when players are using a graphics card that has been overclocked. You’ll need to disable overclocking in order to play H1Z1: King of the Kill.
- Try to stay away from Alt+Tab, apparently pressing these two keys result in a crash.
- If you have fpsmax set to 900 try to lower it and this should fix the crashes when connecting to a match.
#1.1 H1Z1: King of the Kill Crash to desktop when tree hits ground
“6/10 times cutting down trees crashes the game to desktop, either as soon as, or right before the tree hits the ground. Seemed to happen mostly on 1st person only servers. I’ve cut down 7 or 8 trees on a Vanilla PVP server, and it hasn’t crashed (yet.)”
If you are encountering this issue make sure that you updated your game to the latest version because this bug should be fixed by now. If your game is updated and still crashes when cutting down trees, check our workarounds above for crashes.

#G32 Error
We’re sorry, it looks like you are trying to play the game using a different Station Account then what was originally used when you bought Early Access.
- You are either logged into the wrong Station Account, or the wrong Steam Account.
- If you are unsure of other Station Accounts, click [here] for instructions on how to recover them.
#G99 Error
There is an issue connecting to the login server. The login server may be down for maintenance. Please try again a little later. Be sure to check the [forums] for announcements on planned server shutdowns and estimated downtimes.
If there has been no notification of a server shutdown, validate your game files from the LaunchPad and make sure that H1Z1.exe, awesomiumprocess.exe and launchpad.exe are all set as exceptions in your firewall/antivirus program(s). The login server may still be shut down without notification, but running through these steps will ensure that the problem is not on your end.
