  1. Open Windows Firewall

  3. Change settings

    Now, in the Add an app dialog, click on Browse.

  6. Select the game folder

  7. Select Private and Public

2. Update your graphics driver

  1. To open the Run console, press the Win + R keys simultaneously. Type in devmgmt.msc and hit Enter to open the Device Manager. open device manager using run console

3. Add Modern Warfare to the Exceptions list

  1. Go to the taskbar, expand the system tray, and click on the Windows Security icon to open the Windows Security app. click on windows security icon

  3. On the next screen, go to Virus & threat protection settings on the right and click on Manage settings. manage virus & threat protection settings
  4. Next, on the right, go to Exclusions and click on Add or remove exclusions. add or remove exclusions
  5. Under Exclusions, click on Add an exclusion and select Folder. add an exclusion
  6. Now, navigate to Steam > steamapps > Common, and select the Call of Duty HQ folder to add it to the exclusion list.

Once done, you can now try launching Modern Warfare and check if it’s working and if you can play the game.

4. Run the game in Windowed mode

  1. Launch the Run dialog by pressing the Win + R keys together. Type in AppData and hit Enter. run appdata command
  2. In the AppData window, click on Local. select local appdata
  3. Next, in the Local folder, open the Prospect folder.select prospect folder
  4. Now, navigate to Saved > Config > WindowsNoEditor directory.
  5. Inside the WindowsNoEditor folder, look for the GameUserSettings file.
  6. Open this file with any text editor and set FullscreenMode=1 to FullscreenMode=0. Save the changes

Now, try relaunching Modern Warfare and check if the issue is resolved or if it still persists.

5. Set the correct Rendering device

  1. Launch Steam and then launch the Modern Warfare game.
  2. Next, go to Library, right-click on the game, and select Properties. open modern warfare properties
